Boss: Do you feel comfortable installing X for a customer?
Me: No, not at all. I've only had problems doing it before.
Boss: So you can do it? Great! They need you in Essen Germany next week or the week after.
Me: *sigh*

I hear ya.
I get this on a daily basis too.
*kram*
Well, here I get it weekly. Or do I mean weakly?
But you admitted to having done it previously. Mind how you answer!
This assumes, of course, Quilly, that Boss understands "No". Or understands it to mean anything other than "I quit". Especially when Boss is wondering how the hell come Company got suckered into supplying X in the first place. And now that it is ...
Ah, I see the O.C. understands business. Actually, my team got suckered into helping the team from Germany.
Quilly, I believe I clearly phrased it as," No, not without screwing it up." But I guess not.
The boss probably figures you've learned from the previous problems, and if not, he'll blame any future ones on you. Does this mean you'll be traveling again?
Yes, and hopefully even though it's a short train ride, they'll let me go by plane... to save time and to get the last 240 miles I need for a membership upgrade. >:-)
I'm going to blame the guys from Germany if they "communicate poorly" with me.
east germany, I come from there. Good, decent, robust and thick-bricked people. Happy installing!
At least you won't have to fly ;)
Geez Minka, build from bricks is pretty tough... thick bricks? Gosh! Thank goodness I'll be in West Germany where people are made from pastry dough and beer.
I could almost walk.
well, you should know the train system over there by now...I showed you how it is supposed to be done ;)
And all this week there were train strikes in France... so where am I flying tomorrow??? Doh!
What I learned from the German train system is that I should pack underwear and a toothbrush even for day trips.
