Spring Smell
Can you smell it? That's spring! All along the walk to work the street is suddenly lined with yellow flowers. And the air is thick with the smell of yellow. With a hint of wet green too. All the riches of spring.
So this means no more snow, right?

Sure, Morgan, toss away your jacket and your winter boots. I did! :)
Quilly, how does it work in the tropics? Do you have "warm" flip-flops for the winter and lighter, cooler ones for the summer?
We had so much snow in the last six weeks that it has taken one week of 4 to 5 degrees to melt it. That's it for southern Ontario because we expect temps between 5 and 14 all this week. But, we can't trust those weathermen, can we? Our tiny crocus are peeking from the soaked soil and we'll see those "yellow" beauties in your picture by the middle of April. HAPPY SPRING !
The flowers are fully one month late this year. We had multiple days of snow in March and that never happens.
The far side of the road, for fully 2km was a line of yellow. The white and yellow ones here had to suffice for photographic purposes. It still smelled yellow every where. It didn't smell white.
No snow, here. By the way, my facebook page was approximately a 24-hour experiment now concluded with "Yipe!" as its result. No offense meant by my non-reply, pal.
There's an old dutch saying " Aprilletje zoet geeft nog wel eens een witte hoed" In short that means that there can still be snow in April... so don't put your winter clothing too far away !! I'm really looking forward to next saturday, it will be SO great to meet again after almost 2 years ;-)
Doug, Facebook isn't a 24-hour experiment, it's a life-style choice. Embrace the mindlessness and start poking your friends!
Irene, have you heard the weather forecast says snow is coming? Doh!
I was just gonna mail you the same thing: the forecast indeed says it's gonna snow again this weekend :-) This country is weird !!!
Irene, I'm from a country where snow in May or September just sometimes happens. A flake or two in April isn't weird. But a dry winter followed by snow throughout March and April is certainly weird for Holland.
