It's a poor photo. Sorry. But would you believe that the text along the bottom of that sign is 3 words? The first is the doozie. Ever wonder why Dutch is hard to learn? They use letters like there's a sale, during a riot, then pronounce it as *cough*. Huh?

I thought it was only the Germans that did that. My in-laws speak Dutch, but I only know about 3 words.
My dad spoke some Dutch. It always sounded to me like he was clearing his throat.
quilly, it sounds like that to me too. We say here they sound like they have a potato stuck in their throat. Icelandic follows pretty much after Danish with lengthy words, we do have spit sounds instead! :)
Diesel, let's talk. I can teach you a few words to impress the in-laws. Or I can teach you all the bad ones.
Quilly, and he didn't teach you?!? You could reach over 0.3% of the world's population with that skill.
Minka, it's actually milk and cheese caught in the back of their throats, not potatoes. Everything's prettier in Iceland. (Spitting aside.)
Now I know why I can't learn Dutch! They'll drive me crazy with their "small" words. LOL
HAvea great time in Egypt honey, see you around.

I can read it but pronouncing it correctly is another story. Hope you're having a great time in Egypt. :)
Hope Egypt is treating you nicely!
Hi Rosy, how was the office while I was away? I'm so lucky I got to see the snow when I flew in this morning. Beautiful!
Theresa, it's easy... as long as you start with full lungs.
Minka, the Egyptians did treat me nicely. The desert was dry and mean, but I escaped without sunburn.
kunstenaarsbenodigdheden = kunstenaars (artists) & benodigdheden (requirements). You just combine words to create one new word, easy! :). Interesting to see how you look at Dutch words :)
